Internationally connected
Our terminals are strategically located within an extensive network of water, rail, and road connections, forming part of two major transport corridors within the European Union: the North Sea–Rhine–Mediterranean Corridor and the North Sea–Baltic Corridor. As a multimodal port terminal, we ensure that goods are handled quickly and efficiently, allowing them to continue their journey to their final destination without delay.
Located directly to the North Sea, OVET is ideally positioned for both short sea shipping and international maritime traffic. Furthermore, our terminals connect directly to several major inland waterways, such as the Rhine and the Scheldt, providing access to the European hinterland via inland shipping.
We handle all types of vessels, ranging from inland barges to cape-size ships, with a maximum draft of 17 meters.
Sustainable Rail Connections
Our terminals are directly connected to Europe’s main railway networks, extending deep into the continent. Infrastructure works are already underway to further optimize the connection with the Belgian rail network and reduce transit times. In Vlissingen, we operate an automatic train loader that meets the highest standards. This includes an anti-freeze system, a de-ironing installation, and an automated weighing system. In Terneuzen, we offer a similar service, carried out by using wheel loaders.
Efficient Road Transport
For road transport, our terminals offer advanced loading facilities. With our loaders, trucks can be loaded quickly and safely. A calibrated weighbridge ensures accurate weight determination, allowing each transport to depart safely and without delay.
