Our terminal in the Massagoed Harbour is located directly behind the ‘North Sea locks’. This lock  system connects the Western Scheldt with the canal from Ghent to Terneuzen.

Our terminal staff is available around the clock to ensure smooth and efficient handling of your goods. Vessels up to Panamax size are currently handled in Terneuzen and the terminal also offers 16 hectares of fully paved and surfaced land of open storage with a capacity of approximately 450.000 tons. Ship-to-ship operations, in all their variations, can be carried out here just as effectively as in Vlissingen.

Thanks to the recent expansion of the lock complex’s capacity, it is expected that in the course of 2025, vessels of post-Panamax dimensions also will be able to pass the locks and can be handled by OVET at the Massagoed haven.

The Ghent–Terneuzen Canal currently allows for a maximum draft of 12.50 meters in fresh water. The short distance from the lock complex to the OVET terminal is set to be deepened to 14.5 meters in the near future, creating favorable opportunities to unload or lighten vessels with a draft of up to 14.50 meters directly at the OVET terminal, instead of at the current location on the Western Scheldt.

The lightening of vessels on the canal enhances nautical safety and results in significant time and cost savings for seagoing ships.
